Please note that cancellations will not be accepted unless written notice is received by MiSEPS on or before June 30, 2026. Thereafter, a 75% withdrawal fee will be assessed. Dr. Singh specializes in the management of complex retinal diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment and age-related macular degeneration. He has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications, books and book chapters, and serves as principal investigator for numerous national clinical trials advancing the treatment of retinal disease. He is the founder and past president of the Retina World Congress and serves on the board of the American Society of Retina Specialists. He has received several research honors, including the Alpha Omega Alpha Research Award and the American Society of Retina Specialists Senior Honor Award.
Michael S. Lee, MD
Professor and Co-Director

Michael S. Lee is a Director of Neuro-Ophthalmology Service, Co-Director of Center for Thyroid Eye Disease, and Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota. He also holds Mackall-Scheie Research Chair in Ophthalmology. He sees patients with a variety of neuro-ophthalmic problems, including blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, optic neuritis, ischemic optic neuropathy, double vision, eye pain, pseudotumor cerebri, thyroid eye disease, and giant cell arteritis.
Dr. Lee received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine followed by an internship from Presbyterian Medical Center, a residency from Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania. He also received a fellowship from Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School.
John D. Peters, MD

Dr. Peters performs no-stitch cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, penetrating keratoplasty (full-thickness cornea transplantation), DSEK (Descemet’s Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty or partial thickness cornea transplantation), pterygium excision with amniotic membrane grafting, superficial keratectomy, and a host of other procedures as well as glaucoma, diabetes, infectious disease and trauma care, and multiple laser procedures for glaucoma, diabetes and post-cataract surgery capsular opacification.
Kendall E. Donaldson, MD, MS
Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology
Cornea specialist at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute
Dr. Donaldson’s primary research interests are in the area of advancements in cataract surgery, and in particular, laser-assisted cataract surgery, and severe ocular surface disease. She performs various types of corneal transplantation procedures, laser vision correction procedures, ocular surface reconstruction, and cataract surgery.
Dr. Donaldson was named the Medical Director of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the Plantation satellite upon its opening in November of 2004. Since that time, the satellite has grown to include 16 doctors who rotate through the facility providing patients with a full spectrum of ophthalmic services including the highly specialized care available at the Ocular Surface Center in Plantation.
She travels to give over a hundred and fifty lectures annually on a local, national and international levels on cataract surgery and corneal disease. She has authored a variety of peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed articles and book chapters.

S. Robert Levine, MD

Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative
Dr. Levine has led the development of the “Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative” as a way to honor his wife — who suffered from vision-stealing diabetic retinal disease — and help make her dream of a world without vision loss from diabetes a reality. Dr. Levine was an executive producer on the HBO documentary “Being Mary Tyler Moore.”
Dr. Levine led initiatives that built a grass-roots health research advocacy program that is arguably one of the most effective in modern US history. As a volunteer leader, he helped develop the strategy and processes to manage a JDRF research budget that grew from $10-12 million per year to over $100 million per year, navigating the transition from small-scale bench research to large-scale Research Center and Mission-driven initiatives. JDRF is now known as Breakthrough T1D, a global organization that funds research, advocates for policies, and provides education to help find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications.
Dr. Levine graduated summa cum laude from Loyola-Stritch Medical School in 1979 and completed his specialty training in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. He was the founding Director of Mt. Sinai’s Cardiac Health & Rehab Program.
